A biblical dive into what it means to live a well balanced life as a Christian with Fredrick Horn.
SPEAKER_00
Good evening, brothers. This is uh Fred Orange coming to you with the part three of the motivational podcast. Um, and today we we're just simply gonna discuss the continuation of being uh being well balanced uh and being stable. Uh today I just want to focus on a couple things. Uh last week, you know, we discussed about recognizing your weaknesses when we discussed about you know guarding your mind, and we discussed about um uh setting boundaries uh when it comes to being uh well balanced in your life. And today we're gonna just speak on three more three more things that I think are very important for us for us to have a well uh balanced uh life. And one of the things that uh I want to speak on is identifying core values. So, what kind of core values do you have in your life that you can identify with that actually help shapes your life or actually some things that you need to get rid of that doesn't uh shape you into the man that God called you to be? Uh, you know, and by having core values, you know, it gives you uh the idea to understand what do you actually believe in? So what do you actually believe in that's a core value of yours that you stand strong and you stand stern about, you know, because values uh especially core values that every man has for their life should make them grow. And it should help them develop into the man that they uh desire to be and the godly man they that they desire to be. Uh, you know, you you can't be well-balanced if you if you don't have any values, you don't have any standards, you don't have any structure in your life. It's hard to be well-balanced uh when it comes to anything. Uh you know, so does your value create freedom for you? Does it create freedom for you? Do they do the do the things that mean a lot to you do they create freedom for you to be able to serve in the church, to be able to uh serve other people, to be able to just help other people, to be able to just help yourself. Do your uh core values of serve a way to give you freedom to be the man of God that God calls you to be, you know, because we don't identify our core values, and if we don't have any core values, we're just out here doing any and everything uh that we think is right. You know, remember what I said last week as a man thinketh, so if he. So if you think that things that you're doing right are not lining up with the core values that you have uh for your life, then you know you maybe need to think about some things, you know, that are uh, and you might want to write down some things that help you change some of the values of how you see things and the value of how you see yourself. You know, uh sometimes we don't see ourselves as the man of God um that God called us to be, and that's so many, and that's one of the things that we have to change. Um another another point I want to bring to you that I want to speak to you about is having self-compassion. You know, having self-compassion about yourself, uh, you know, and understanding just because you make a mistake uh uh in life, just because you make a mistake uh uh in your career or or doing something doesn't mean that you're not worthy. It doesn't mean that that uh you shouldn't show yourself compassion. It doesn't mean that you know uh you're you're doomed or you're heading in the wrong direction. You know, so we we need to have some self-compassion about ourselves in order to be balanced. We have to be in order to be balanced with what uh God called us to be. The compassion. You know, sometimes we have more compassion for other people than we do for ourselves. Sometimes we give other people the benefit of the doubt better than we give ourselves the benefit of the doubt, you know, and uh don't let your mistake define you. Know your structure, know your struggles, and recognize that an infected profession isn't who you are. You know, just by you make a mistake, that mistake doesn't define you. That mistake doesn't make you who you are. You know, uh just because you're struggling with some things in life right now, it doesn't make you who you are, and it doesn't make you the man that God calls you to be. Uh, and that could cause you not having self-compassion for yourself can cause you to be unbalanced because you because you walk around thinking that you're unworthy. You know, you walk around thinking that you're unworthy, you're unworthy of God's grace, you're unworthy of his mercy, you're unworthy of his faithfulness. So let's have self-compassion for ourselves. Um, and one of the the third point is just audit your life. Take a self-evaluation and audit your life. You know, audit your life when it comes to your to your mind, to your body, and to your soul. You know, take a self-brothers. We have a hard time taking a self-evaluation of ourselves. How do I see myself? You know, audit yourself. You know, put no, sometimes you gotta put yourself first. You gotta put yourself first. And I'm gonna say this in a way for I want you to understand it. Sometimes putting yourself first is not pride. Sometimes putting yourself first is not ego, it's not ego-driven. Sometimes putting yourself first when it comes to having a well-balanced life is you gotta be physical fit to be able to take care of your family, be able to be able to be able to take care of yourself. You have to you have to be emotional fit. So you're gonna so you're gonna go off over and and do crazy things and have crazy thoughts and have crazy emotions floating all over the place. You know, you have to be financially fit. You know, you you can't, you know, you you can't put yourself first if you're not financially fit. How are you gonna be able to afford it? You know, and spiritually fit, you know, you gotta put yourself first when it comes to being spiritually fit as well. And then like I said, it doesn't mean that you're you're being prideful. It doesn't mean that you that you're driven by your ego. It means that you have to be selfish among yourself to be able to help others. You gotta get yourself right. You gotta audit your life, get yourself right, get yourself prepared for what to come next. You know, we have a hard time, you know, uh understanding ourselves. And sometimes as men, we're more harder on ourselves than we uh need to be. So cut yourself some cut yourself some slack. Just cause, you know, and stop comparing yourself to another man and what another man is. You never know what his struggle was in order to be what he is right now. His struggles could have been worse than your struggles. So today I just want to to just put a message out to you, brothers, to just, you know, identify your core values of who you are, you know. Self-compassion, just be compassionate to yourself. Show yourself some grace, show yourself some mercy, you know, and audit your life. Just you know, on a one to ten scale, just audit your life. And if you're at a two right now, fine. At least you know where you're at, and at least you and at least you have a starting point point to to get better or to make things better. You know, last week I I try every week to leave you with a quote, you know, and this week quote is be positive about yourself to change who you are. Remember, be positive about yourself to change who you are. You know, sometimes we're not giving ourselves the credit that we deserve by being positive about ourselves to change who we are, guys. So I leave you with that quote, I leave you with that thought, and I leave you with those three three things to uh carry you throughout the week. God bless you, and I continue to pray for you, and you continue to pray for me. Thank you.
