A biblical dive into what it means to live a well balanced life as a Christian with Fredrick Horn.
Good morning, brothers. My name is Minister Freddie Horn, and I'll be coming to you this month from the Motivational Men podcast, simply talking about being well balanced. And what do being well balanced mean? Simply just being stable. See, before me, we have four great speakers. Brother Mike Baldw spoke about being physical fit. Ella Cummings talked about being physical fit. Brother Wimbush talked about being emotional fit. And Ella Sharp talked about being spiritual fit. Now, my my scripture today is simply coming from James 1 and 8. And it simply says, a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. Not just one way, not just two-way, not just three-way, but in all his ways. See, we could be physically fit and not be emotionally fit. We could be spiritually fit and not be financially fit. See, when you're physically fit, you go to the gym, you work out, you pump weights, you try to do all that. But are we really going to the gym to build muscles to escape the emotional damage that are inside of us? So do we just think that the outer imperance of being big and strong think think make people think that you are big and strong? When reality is in the inside, you're emotionally destroyed. See, you can come to church. There's plenty of people that come to church and they are very, very spiritually fit, but they're not financially fit. You ask them to go out to have dinner with you or just to have a uh a casual outing with you, and they can't go because they feel embarrassed because they don't have any money. They're physically, they're physically, uh, financially broke and they don't have money, but they don't want you to see that side of them. They want you to think that I come to church every Sunday, everything's good, I'm great. When actually they're not. See, you also could be financially fit and not be physically fit. You can have all the money in the world and bad health because you didn't take care of yourself throughout the years. See, we gotta be well balanced with what we're doing in life. We we gotta understand what being stable and well balanced is all about. See, like it says, a double-minded man. Are you spiritually fit but not financially fit? Are you physically fit and not emotionally fit? Those are the questions that you have to ask yourself. See, because throughout life, things are up and down. You're not always gonna feel, see, and that's one thing that we have to get out of our feelings. We're not always gonna feel that that we're spiritually fit. Well, we're not always gonna feel that we're financially fit, we're not always gonna feel that we're emotionally fit, we're not always gonna feel that we're that we're spiritually balanced, we're not always gonna feel it. But you know what? It starts right here. It starts in the mind. We have to change our mindset. And we're changing our mindset, we have to do something, and doing something means we gotta get up and just go do it. See, when you want to be physically fit, you go to the gym. When you want to be emotionally uh uh uh fit, you go see a therapist, which is not bad at all. I wish more people would go see therapists if they need if they need the help. Trust me, if you need the help, go. Some of us are uh financially fit. We have to go see a financially coach or or or an accountant, you know, to be spiritually fit, we have to go to church and surround ourselves why surround ourselves around godly people that understand what it what it means to be fit with spiritually fit and that can teach us how to be spiritually fit. But the one thing that stops us is that we don't want nobody else to tell us what to do. Even though we want to be physically fit, we don't want no one no one to tell us how to work out when we're at the gym. If we're doing an exercise wrong, we don't want no one to tell us, hey man, you're doing it wrong. You need to squat like this, you need to lift like this. We don't want no one to tell us anything. We want to be financially fit and we go see a financial coach and we go see an accountant. We don't want them to tell us how to spend our money. I work hard. I'm gonna spend money higher higher I want to spend my money. You know, when we go see a therapist, we don't want them to tell us how we need to change. There's some things in life we need to change in order to better our life. We don't want that. You know, when we come to church, we don't want the pastor to tell us or any brothers to tell us how what we need to do to change our life. So we so in reality, we don't want to be well balanced. We just want people to uh get the assumption that we are well balanced. I'm all together, everything is working out the way I want it to. See, the question that you need to ask yourself is do you even know what being stable looks like? Do you even know what it looked like? Because some of us never seen what it looked like from our from dealing with our uh uh background of our family, uh uh from being in uh marriages and getting and getting divorces or having kids and not know how to raise our kids right. We don't know what it really means to be stable because we've never seen it. But I got a question for you. Are you structured enough to be stable? And do you want to be stable? Do you want a well-balanced life? If so, there are some changes that you gotta make, and there's some things that you gotta do. And we gotta be and we gotta stop thinking that I could do it all on my own. I could do it by myself. See, I'm gonna end you with this. Each one of us have homework this uh week. Each one of us have homework this week, and I want your homework to be this. This week, practice flexibility in your life. Practice flexibility in your life. Because with flexibility, you're gonna see that you have purpose, and with purpose, you can be able to be emotionally fit, financially fit, spiritually fit, and uh financially fit. So the this week, I want you to practice flexibility. And I want and what I want you to do is adapt your daily routine, adapt your daily routine to changing circumstances without losing your sense of purpose. Let me say that again. Adapt your daily routines to changing circumstances without losing your sense of purpose. Because, brothers, without purpose, what are we doing? Without purpose, what are we trying to achieve? Without purpose, you would never be physically fit. Without purpose, you would never be financially fit. Without purpose, you would never be emotionally fit. Without purpose, you would never be spiritually fit. Remember, a double minded man is unstable in all of his ways. Thank you. God bless you.
