Good morning. Brothers, I am Brother Mike Baldwin, remember Word of God, Chris and Center here in Fairville, North Carolina. We're coming to you this morning continuing our commitment with our men's devotional. Over the next few weeks, I will be communicating with you guys from the area of fitness, okay? Mind, body, soul. Very important in your walk of Christ, okay? And in our culture, from time to time, that's something that has a tendency to be overlooked. So I'm going to share some things with you from a book I've been reading over the last uh little bit here, and I'm going to open with a passage of scripture. And over the last few weeks here, over the next upcoming weeks rather, there's a few other tops I would like to share with you, but I'm just going to start real basic here this morning. Okay. We're just going to let uh basically lay the groundwork that's going to kind of lead us into what we're going to be discussing over the next few weeks here. Okay. I'm going to start out with um a passage of scripture. 1 Corinthians 6, 19 through 20. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own. You were brought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies. Now that passage of scripture kind of hits home for me, considering here, maybe a little bit over a year and a half ago, I had a medical scare that uh you know kind of put me in a space to redirect some of my thinking in regards to my health and maintaining my body, okay? My mind as well as my soul. Okay. Now we think about the true meaning of health. Um a lot of it's kind of wrapped around disease prevention. Health is not just the absence of disease, but also physical well-being, keeping your body, mind, and spirit strong and healthy for evangelizing. It is important to be concerned about your physical well-being. This could be as simple as drinking a glass of water, taking a morning run, completing your annual physical, reading a book, or ensuring you are ensuring that you don't let stress take over your life. Whatever concern you may have, your body is one of the first few gifts that the Lord entrusted to you as your responsibility. Christian men should be aware of what great care God put into the design of the human body and the immense wealth that went into the creation of their temple, upholding health, preventing disease, and preserving wellness of the body is a critical yet often overlooked part of being a devoted follower of Christ. As men, we often neglect going to the doctor for various reasons, but it is frequently, but it is frequently forgotten that maintaining a healthy body is key duty of the Christian man. How can you fulfill your body? Excuse me, how can you fulfill your duty as a head of your household as Christ is the head of the church if you do not take care of your temple? Wow. I'm gonna read that again. How can you fulfill your duty as the head of your household as Christ is the head of the church if you do not take care of your temple? You must consider your bodies as the temple of God. Reflect on what you put in your body, letting your body relax and renew, and explore fun and unique ways to keep your body active. This can be accomplished through proper nutrition, exercise, and education. Therefore, as you continue to be inspired by the words of those before us, continue to encourage one another to earn God by maintaining a healthy body, mind, and soul, equally as each of you has been provided your body as a gift. Continue to use it in the manner in which the Lord continues to bless you abundantly many times over. Well, guys, I just wanted to share that with you guys this morning. We will continue uh moving forward uh every Monday. Uh hope this was uh as enriching and encouraging to you to you guys as it was for me. Looking forward to seeing you guys this weekend. Take care.
